QUICKSURFACE AI is an AI-powered 3D reverse engineering technology integrated into QUICKSURFACE Pro 2027. It helps engineers transform 3D scan data into fully editable parametric CAD models, significantly reducing manual reconstruction work.
2. What types of parts can QUICKSURFACE AI reconstruct?
QUICKSURFACE AI is designed primarily for prismatic and suitable complex mechanical parts. It can recognise mechanical features such as holes, fillets, chamfers, revolved features and drafts. Automatic freeform and organic surface reconstruction is not supported in the initial release.
3. Are the CAD models generated by QUICKSURFACE AI fully editable?
Yes. QUICKSURFACE AI generates parametric CAD models with editable sketches, dimensions and a feature tree. Engineers can inspect and refine the results using QUICKSURFACE Pro’s modelling tools.
4. How much does QUICKSURFACE AI cost?
QUICKSURFACE AI is included with eligible QUICKSURFACE Pro 2027 licences at no additional software licence cost. An active subscription or maintenance is required. Third-party AI provider usage fees may apply separately.
5. Can existing QUICKSURFACE customers use AI?
Yes. Existing QUICKSURFACE Pro customers with active maintenance or an eligible active subscription can access QUICKSURFACE AI from 17 November 2026. QUICKSURFACE AI is not included with QUICKSURFACE Lite or QUICKSURFACE for SOLIDWORKS.
6. When will QUICKSURFACE AI be available?
QUICKSURFACE AI will be available worldwide from 17 November 2026, with the release of QUICKSURFACE Pro 2027.
7. Do I need my own AI account to use QUICKSURFACE AI?
Yes. QUICKSURFACE AI connects to compatible third-party AI assistants through the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Users connect their own AI account, and any applicable AI usage charges are billed directly by their chosen provider. There is no additional QUICKSURFACE AI software licence fee.
8. Is my data secure when using QUICKSURFACE AI?
QUICKSURFACE does not store your AI account credentials or have access to your AI conversations. AI processing is handled by your chosen provider, subject to their privacy and data policies.
